Wellington was named Money Magazines “Top 100” Best Places to Live in 2010. It was originally the world’s largest strawberry patch on land called the Flying Cow Ranch. It has now become known for its great school systems and as an international center for equestrian sports. Famous for its annual Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF), which is the largest, longest running hunter/jumper equestrian event in the world, attracting thousands of competitors each year from all over the world. Along with the Global Dressage Festival (GDF), a 12-week long equestrian extravaganza is held at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center (PBIEC). In addition, the International Polo Club (IPC), one of the largest polo clubs in the world, is located in the heart of Wellington.
